Sun Protection Factor (SPF) Tests
  • UV-B and UV-A SPF/PFA Tests are routinely performed in HRL's 10-position Sunscreen Testing Department.

  • Static, Water Resistant, Very Water Resistant (Waterproof) and Extended Waterproof (up to 6 Hour) Sunscreen Tests are conducted on-site. HRL also performs Sweat Resistant Sun Protection Factor (SPF) Tests on-site.

All SPF Tests are performed according to FDA / COLIPA / JCIA (Japanese Cosmetic Industry Association) / AS/NZS (Australia/New Zealand) methodology, as required.

HRL has conferred about and performed standards testing for the DIN (Deutsches Insitut für Normung), the Australian Standards Association, and METRO of Brazil.

HRL has been included in numerous CTFA and COLIPA "Round Robin/Cycle" testing for the establishment of standards.
